Scope & Pricing Overview

At Gravity Lens, video production is not one-size-fits-all, and it is not priced by the minute.

While some providers price by final video length, Gravity Lens prices projects based on the production effort required to achieve a specific level of quality. Two videos with the same runtime can require very different levels of planning, production, and post-production.

This guide provides general guidance, not fixed packages. Final pricing is confirmed during pre-production, once goals and scope are clearly defined.

Where This Guide Applies

This framework applies to short-form commercial video projects, including:

  • Brand and marketing videos

  • Product or service showcases

  • Social and web content

  • Campaign pieces

  • About-the-brand or mission videos

Most projects range from a few seconds up to approximately five minutes in final runtime.

This guide does not apply to long-form or coverage-based work such as:

  • Multi-hour live event coverage

  • Conference or stage recordings

  • Television episodes or broadcast series

  • Documentary or feature-length productions

These formats use different production models and are scoped separately when applicable.

How Project Tiers Work
  • Project tiers describe how a project is produced, not what it looks like on screen

  • Not every listed element is required to move a project into a higher tier

  • One or two complex needs can change the tier

  • The most demanding part of the project determines the tier

A Simple Example
  • A single high-end product beauty shot can require more planning, lighting, setup, and post-production than an entire sit-down interview filmed in one location.

  • Shorter does not always mean simpler. Both approaches are valid — they simply require different levels of production effort.

Travel & Location Considerations
  • Production tier reflects what is being made, not where it is being made

  • Travel, lodging, permits, shipping, or remote locations can affect cost at any tier

  • A simple project filmed far away may cost more than a complex project filmed locally

  • All travel and logistics are discussed and approved in advance

Final Note
  • This guide exists to provide clarity and context

  • It is not a list of fixed packages

  • Once goals and scope are aligned, Gravity Lens provides a custom quote during pre-production, tailored to the project

The right level of production matches the approach to the goal — no more, no less.

Tier 0

Out of Scope

What We Don’t Do

Gravity Lens does not offer unplanned or no-intent video work, including:

  • “Show up and shoot” requests

  • One-take recordings with no setup

  • DIY or cellphone-only capture without lighting or audio control

  • Content created without consideration for brand presentation

Many businesses successfully create informal content in-house. Gravity Lens’ work begins when video is intended to represent a brand professionally.

Tier 1

Small Production

Typical Investment: $2,500–$3,500

Simple, professional video with light planning.

May Include:

  • Basic pre-production (scheduling, interview guidance, simple location advice)

  • One short shoot (half day)

  • Single-camera coverage with professional lighting and sound

  • Basic on-site, naturally lit b-roll

  • Light editing and delivery

  • Depending on scope and efficiency, this level may occasionally support more than one short-form deliverable

Best for:

  • Interviews

  • Social or website videos

  • Straightforward messaging

Tier 2

Mid-Level Production

Typical Investment: $4,500–$8,500

More planning, coverage, and support.

May Include:

  • Expanded pre-production (location evaluation, outdoor planning, scheduling)

  • One to two shoot days

  • Production assistant support

  • More intentional lighting and camera work

  • Planned, targeted b-roll designed to support messaging

  • Expanded editing with multiple versions

  • This level often supports multiple short-form deliverables when scope and efficiency allow

Best for:

  • Brand-forward content

  • Product or service showcases

  • Multi-setup shoots

Tier 3

High-End Production

Typical Investment: $9,500–$45,000+

  • Narrative pieces

Tier 4

Industry-Scale Production

  • Advanced practical effects, prosthetics, or specialty makeup

  • Stunts, pyrotechnics, or hazardous effects

Gravity Lens does not typically produce industry-scale projects, but may consult, collaborate, or refer when appropriate.
